Mr. Mukesh Ambani identified this quality in me — now I ask parents to identify it in their children

When children lead with presence, we don’t correct them — we recognize them.
At Bal Bharti Public School, I was introduced not by a principal or teacher, but by the student anchors themselves. Each one walked up without a script, without hesitation, and with a clarity most professionals would aspire to. As an emcee in Mumbai, I’ve witnessed sharp talent onstage — but this was special. Their composure wasn’t coached. It was coming from somewhere intrinsic. That’s why I brought them up again mid-program, to make sure the audience clapped for what they’d just witnessed: pure, natural anchoring.
In moments like these, I think of where it all started. At Jio, the assumption was: “She can’t talk.” My first assignment turned out to be for Mr. Mukesh Ambani. His response shifted everything. When someone of that stature identifies something in you before you can name it yourself — you move. That’s how I began. Not with ambition, but with validation. And it’s why today, whether I’m working with a global investor or a mumbai anchor on their first panel, I try to do the same: reflect what’s already present but not yet recognised. That’s the quiet skill of a true compere in mumbai — you must be able to see the spotlight before it turns on.
I ended my address with one line to the parents: “There is no better identifier than you.” Before marks, before medals, before mimicry — there’s a window of unforced action in every child. Whether I’m serving as an emcee near me or hosting a Fortune 500 CXO, the foundational principle is identical. Spot that spark. Name it. Mirror it. It’s how every great anchor, speaker, or strategist begins. If we miss that window, it’s not the child who’s lost time — it’s the system. And that system is us. We don’t need to build interest. We need to honour what’s already there. That’s how you shape the best emcee in mumbai — or the next one.
