Chief Guest at Bal Bharati: Welcomed with a Tilak, and a Memory

Bal Bharati Public School— where I once stood as a student speaker — now invited me back as Chief Guest. It wasn’t just a return, it was a reveal: of what it means to be seen, remembered, and invited again. This is the kind of room I now belong in.
The moment began with a tilak
The welcome was symbolic — two students placing a tilak on my forehead as I arrived.
In corporate events, we often rely on stage design and LED cues to frame the moment. Here, it was the gesture that carried weight. The audience noticed, absorbed, and mirrored that tone. One student even offered to help with my cue cards — a simple act, but it showed that attention runs both ways. That’s the quiet confidence I’ve learned to build as a female anchor in Mumbai — no need to command, just connect.
A Principal’s words that anchored my past to the present
“I’ve known her since she was a child. Seeing her on this stage, and knowing where she’s reached — we feel proud,” said Kalpana Dwivedi ma’am.
It wasn’t just praise — it was positioning. She didn’t describe my work, she validated the journey. That kind of framing hits different in a room full of future professionals. And in that moment, I knew exactly why being a corporate emcee is more than presence — it’s continuity. One sentence from a leader can do more for credibility than any pitch deck.
From assemblies to institutions
When I shared, “I trained for this at your school assemblies,” there were smiles — the knowing kind.
I added, “You might think you’re just doing morning announcements. But that mic is preparing you for more than you know.” It wasn’t scripted. It was recognition. That moment bridged the gap between past podiums and present ones. And it reminded me — the best event anchor in India isn’t made on stage. She’s shaped long before that, in rooms like this.
In Closing:
